| AYAMA TEENS YOGA PRE-REGISTRATION PROGRAM | |

For many teenagers staying healthy has become a priority. Both boys
and girls are concerned with eating well, getting more exercise and
managing stress. Teenagers are constantly faced with many powerful
emotions and finding an outlet for these emotions isn’t always easy.
Hormonal changes combined with insecurities can trigger many negative
behaviors. Most teenagers are just trying to find a way to live
peacefully in a chaotic world. Yoga can help teenagers sort through
their emotions while building their confidence. Yoga is not about
sitting around cross-legged chanting OM and it doesn’t mean your body
needs to be flexible enough to bend into a pretzel. It's actually an
effective way to manage weight and be physically active while letting
off some steam at the same time.
Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice that began more than 5,000
years ago. The word yoga comes from Sanskrit, and it means to "yoke," or
bring together the mind, body, and spirit. Disciplining your mind and
body as well as connecting with your spirituality are the main goals of
the yoga lifestyle. Aside from the physical aspect, teenagers are taught
how to breathe, so when faced with stress, anxiety or panic the
techniques learned through yoga could be used as a tool to aid them. Our
Ayama yoga teen program offers teenagers a special place to let go,
practice to the music that they love, breathe and be who they are.
